Vietnam to restart international commercial flights

Budget airline Vietjet Air resumed flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh to Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan as of April 1.

Ho Chi Minh- Bangkok (Thailand)  reopens once a week, on Fridays. Meanwhile, thirteen flights connecting Hanoi-Tokyo (Japan) will operate this month with the first scheduled on April 6, the airline said at a press release.

The Hanoi- Taiwan (Taipei) route will resume on April 11and one flight from Hanoi to Seoul (South Korea) will restart on April 15.

The national flag carrier Vietnam airlines has also resumed 4 international flights to South Korea, Japan and Australia starting from April 1 to June 30.

In details, Hanoi-Seoul (South Korea) will operate on Thursdays. Hanoi-Sydney (Australia) will resume on Saturdays. Ho Chi Minh-Sydney service will resume with twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sunday. In April, there are 7 flights from Hanoi to Tokyo (Japan). Since May, the service will increase to twice a week, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight tickets are already available on the carriers' website.

At present, the flightsparticularly bring Vietnames citizens who wish to study or work abroad and visit family; as well as stranded foreigners in Vietnam back to home. The return trip will only repatriate Vietnamese who are stuck abroad and fly foreign experts entering Vietnam as per government regulations.
