How to get Vietnam visa in Norfolk,United States
What you should know
Vietnam visa for US citizens living in Norfolk is valid for up to 1 year with start date as entry date provided in the application. As for tourist of 1 month and 3 months validity, you can come and leave Vietnam anytime while the visa is valid. However, you are not allowed to stay more than 3 months per entry when entering by 6 months and 1 year visa. Fortunately, this regulation is NOT applicable for business visa, which means you can stay as long as you want until visa expiration date.
Passport notes:
The passport must be valid at least 1 month after visa expires. If you travel by plane, ensure your passport has no less than 6 months of validity remaining, or else, the airlines staff will not let you board the plane.
Visa procedures
1. Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival facility is recommended for arrivals by air as it is economy, rapidity and simplicity.
Before arrival
You must have an approval issued by immigration department to get on plane and collect visa stamp on arrival. The approval is accepted at all Vietnamese international airports including Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cam Ranh. Phu Quoc, Cat Bi.
In order to apply for tourist visa approval, you just need fill out an application form online and make payment online with credit/debit card. When it comes to business visa, you have to apply via email by sending copy of passport page and best-estimated entry date to support@vietnamvisa-easy.com. Within 24 hours since the receipt of payment, the approval of tourist visa will be emailed to you with an entry/exit form. On arrival
At “landing visa” window, you are requested to present the approval with valid passport, completed entry/exit form, and 01 passport-sized photo. The customs officer will call out your name when the visa is ready. You have to pay some stamping fee before getting the passport back. It takes 10-15 minutes depending length of the queue. 2. Electronic visa (Evisa)
Evisa is a cheapest option but it is only applicable for 1 month single tourist visa. Before making the application, you should check the list of ports that allow evisa entry.
Step 1: Fill out application form online and upload your photo.
Step 2: Make payment of $25 visa fee online with credit/debit card. After the payment is successful; you will receive an application code to track visa status later.

Step 3. Enter booking number, registration email, date of birth to download the visa letter (in case the application is approved) from the site of application.
3. Visa sticker at embassy
The embassy doesn’t offer online application which causes somewhat inconvenient; yet, the good thing to apply with embassy is you have everything done before arrival. Below are the requirements for a standard application of Vietnam travel visa for US citizens:
• Valid original passport
• Application form (enter here to fill out the form online. You have 15 minutes to get it done)
• 01 passport-sized photo taken against white background within the past 6 months. A loose-leaf visa needs 2 photos.
• A prepaid envelope for return of the passport. One envelope can be used for a group of applicants. For your documents safety, the embassy advises you to use USPS Express Mail, DHL/Express Mail, certified mail or Fedex with the tracking numbers.
• Vietnam visa fee: can be paid by money order, cashier’s check, or company check payable to “Embassy of Vietnam”.
Please note:
• The other services such as arrangement of visa approval, expedited processing, shipping will require additional fee.
• Do not make telephone inquiries on status of your application until after the 3rd business days (standard processing) or 1stbusiness day (expedited processing)
• No mail can be delivered at the embassy during weekends and holidays.
