Vietnam visa exemption for Swedish visitors
According to bilateral visa exemption agreement between Vietnam and Sweden, all Swedish citizens whose visit not exceed 15 days are not required a Vietnam visa. Only those wishing to stay longer than authorized period will have to obtain the visa before the trip.
In order to enter Vietnam, the visitors from Sweden just need to present their original passport at the port of entry. Please remind that the passport must be valid at least 1 month after the trip ends.
For those who want to visit Vietnam more than 15 days, you are given 2 options to get a visa Vietnam:
1. Apply at Vietnam Embassy
Obtaining visa to Vietnam at the embassy always requires the Swedish to provide the following documents:
· Visa application form
· Original passport with minimum validity of 6 months and at least 2 empty pages left
· 01 passport photo glued to the form
· Vietnam visa fees
After 3 working days since the documents are submitted, you will get the visa from embassy. Right after collecting the visa, you should check for its accuracy to make sure that there is no problem with it. If you find any mistake, immediately return the visa to the embassy for correction.
2. Apply online to pick up visa on arrival
Applying for Vietnam visa in person at the embassy may be inconvenience for some Swedish citizens, especially those who live far from the embassy. In that case, you may like the idea of online visa application. To apply for the visa electronically, you will need to complete the online visa application form and make the full payment for it with credit card. 2 days after your application and payment are confirmed, we will provide you with a visa approval letter from Immigration Department to enter Vietnam and pick up the Vietnam visa on arrival at the airport.
Please take note that Vietnam visa upon arrival is only applicable to Swedish visitors entering Vietnam by air. If you plan to arrive in the country by road or sea, please obtain the visa for Vietnam at the embassy as directed.
