Yes. An e-Visa is valid at all Vietnamese international ports of entry, including airports, seaports, and land border crossings. You can change your port of entry at the last minute without any issues.

An e-Visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days. Both single-entry and multiple-entry options are available.

Yes. Vietnam Immigration can still issue an e-Visa as long as your passport is valid for at least 30 days after your visa expires.
However, most airlines require 6 months validity to allow you to board. Please check with your airline before you travel.
 

You can submit an e-Visa application up to 1 year before your expected travel date. We recommend applying at least 2 weeks before your trip to avoid any last-minute issues.

No. You cannot apply for a new visa while you are in Vietnam. You must exit Vietnam by your current visa's expiration date and apply for a new visa to re-enter the country.

Foreigners do not need a visa to visit Phu Quoc for stays of less than 30 days, provided they arrive directly at Phu Quoc International Airport.

Important notes: Those who transit through Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, or Da Nang will need a visa. If you plan to travel from Phu Quoc to mainland Vietnam, you must obtain a visa before your trip. It is not possible to apply for a visa while you are in Vietnam.

Standard processing takes 3-5 business days, excluding weekends and public holidays. If your application is returned due to incorrect information or an unqualified photo, it will take an additional 3 business days.

You can enter Vietnam at any time during your visa's validity period. You do not need to enter on the exact start date.

For example: If your visa is valid from September 1st to September 30th, you can enter any day between those dates, but you must exit by September 30th.

Your visa will expire on its expiration date whether you use it or not. If your new travel date is after that, you will need to apply for a new visa. 

Yes, but you can only use one visa per entry.

Yes. Children need a visa just like adults. If they have their own passport, they need their own visa. If they share a passport with a parent, they can be included in the parent's visa.

For some nationalities, Immigration checks more strictly. To increase your chance of approval, please provide travel insurance, tour company details, itinerary, and a bank statement. If it is rejected again, you may need to consider a different destination.

No, not necessarily. The arrival date you provide should be the earliest you plan to arrive, but you can arrive after, not before that date. The departure date is the last day you are permitted to be in the country, unless you get a visa extension.

For example: If you apply for a 1-month visa and submit your arrival date as April 02, 2011, the visa letter will be valid from April 02, 2011 – May 02, 2011. You can arrive anytime between April 02, 2011 and May 02, 2011 but must leave the country by May 02, 2011."

No. A pre-approval letter is strictly mandatory to board your flight and receive your visa stamp upon arrival.

A tourist VOA is valid for up to 1 month, while a business VOA is valid for up to 3 months. Business visa applicants must be sponsored by a company in Vietnam.

Yes. A visa stamping fee must be paid directly at the airport in cash (USD or VND only):

• Single-entry visa: $25 USD
• Multiple-entry visa: $50 USD

Processing times vary depending on the airport and arrival time. SGN (Ho Chi Minh City) is usually the busiest, while Noi Bai (Hanoi) and Da Nang airports are generally less crowded. During peak hours, immigration queues can be long, and the process may take 15 minutes to 1 hour.

Normally, the visa application is processed within 2 working days. The urgent visa order is processed in 1 working days  or 4 working hours (see urgent Vietnam visa on arrival). This is excluding weekends, weekday evenings and National holidays .

The "Visa approval letter" is a document issued by Vietnam Immigration Department (Vietnam Ministry of Public Security) that permits foreigners to enter and exit Vietnam in a given period of time. With the visa approval letter, you can get onto your plane and pick up your visa upon arrival at one of the three international airports in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang).

Please take note that the visa approval letter is NOT available for those who travel by LAND or by CRUISE.

Yes it is. Visa on arrival or Vietnam visa approval letter is a document issued by Vietnam Immigration Department, the unique authoriy in Vietnam has the full right to consider and approve visa application. It is recognized by IATA (International Air Traffic Association), visa on arrival is totally legitimate. Visa on arrival or visa upon arrival is an alternative way to get Vietnam visa. It is considered as the quickest and cheapest way for air travelers to apply for a visa for Vietnam at present. What you need to do is just fill in our Online Secure Application Form", pay the service fee, get your "Visa approval letter" within 1 or 2 working day(s) and pick up your visa at arrival airport (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh or Da Nang International airport)

After we obtain the approval letter for you, we will forward you a copy by email or fax. The document will also be sent into and recorded at the data base of Vietnam Immigration checkpoints at International Airports. Your visa thus will be easily stamped onto your passport upon your arrival.

Almost foreigners need an entry visa to Vietnam except for nationals named in the Vietnam visa exemption list.
