How to get Vietnam visa in Fresno,United States

When you should apply?

Apply whenever you have a good plan for the trip. We do not advise you to apply months prior to the start of visit but don’t make a rush application at last minute. It’s ideal to start application 1 month before the travel.

Select appropriate visa type

There are different visa categories but we are going to focus on Vietnam tourist visa and Vietnam business visa in this post. Vietnam visa validity refers to authorized length of your stay in Vietnam, which means you are allowed to stay in the country since visa becomes effective until it expires. It’s possible to travel later, not earlier than the date of entry shown on visa.

Both Vietnam tourist visa and Vietnam business visa are valid for up to one year. With long-term tourist visas, you are restricted to stay no longer than 90 days for each entry, but with long-term business visas, you are allowed to remain in the country as long as you want.

How to apply?

There are 3 ways for you to select:

1. Embassy or consulate

Whenever mentioning about visa, what comes first in our mind is always embassy/consulate because they are official representative of a country. And the same goes for Vietnam. At present, there is no embassy or consulate opened in Fresno, so you are supposed to mail the application to one of the embassy or consulate in Washington, Houston, San Francisco, New York.Requirements for application are the same but there is a slight change in visa fee. Here are papers you must prepare before presenting at consular office and request a visa for Vietnam for US passport:

• Application form:  available at webpage and office of embassy.
• Valid original passport: if you are afraid of loss or damage of passport when it’s delivered to embassy, it’s possible to provide a copy of passport. Accordingly, a loose-leaf visa will be granted.
• Prepaid return envelope
• 01 passport-sized photo: the photo should be taken within 6 months to reflect your current looking.
• Visa  fees: the payment must be in form of money order, cashier’s check, or company check

The consulate needs 3-5 business days to issue visa result but you can request to decrease processing time to 1 day with extra fee.

Option2.  E-visa

Electronic visa is newly brought into use in Vietnam but it quickly gets being popular by travelers due to low cost and simple procedure. Checking list of ports allowing e-visais important thing to do first.

And here are steps to get an e-visa:

Step 1. Upload your photo and complete application form online.

Step 2. Pay USD 25 non-refundable visa fee online. You will receive a code after payment to check visa result later.

Step 3. After 3 business days, you enter application code, registration email address and date of birth into search menu on the site to download visa letter. Do not expect it to be sent to your email.

Electronic visa super convenient but it also has some small limitations at the same time. They are:

• The extension fee for e-visa is usually high
• Rush service is not available
• Visa validity is short (30 days)

Option 3. Visa on arrival

Whenever you want a long-term visa, or a business visa, or an emergency visa and want it to be cheap and easy, we recommend Visa On arrival. Be sure that you are traveling to Vietnam by air since the visa on arrival is only available at airports.

4 steps below describe how Vietnam visa on arrival works:

Step 1. Go to “apply online” to fill out the form online and select preferred visa validity, purpose of entry from drop-down menu. You are advised to contact us to order business visa.

Step 2. Pay for application through Onepay or Paypal. The visa fee is various depending on visa type, validity and processing. Applying as a group is cheaper than application as individual. Refer to Vietnam visa fee for more details.

Step 3. Download the visa approval in the email we sent after 24 working hours. The visa can be issued earlier within a few hours for rush visa service.

 Step 4. Get off the plane and head to checkpoint counter to complete stamping procedure. Be sure you have the following documents ready for submission: origin passport, visa approval, completed entry/exit form, 01 passport-sized photo. Stamping fee at airport will be $25 for single entry, $50 for multiple entry visa valid for up to 3 months, $65 for 6 months multiple entry and $135 for 1 year multiple entry. The payment must be paid in cash, USD or VND.
