Vietnam tourist visa for Indians

The Indian visitors traveling to Vietnam for vacation purposes must obtain a Vietnam tourist visa. As of July 2020, Vietnamese tourist visa for Indian citizens is valid for up to 90 days but the maximum length of stay on each visit is only 30 days. If visitors wish to stay longer than this duration, they need to apply for an extension.

There are 3 options to get a tourist visa for Indian tourists:

Electronic visa

Advantage: low price, simple procedure, valid to use at airports, seaports, and land borders

Disadvantage: any support is not available. If there is a mistake with the visa, you are supposed to apply for a new one even if the fault is of the government.

How to apply?

Enter https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/ to fill out the form online and pay USD 30 processing fee. Please aware that this is the only official governmental site for the e-visa application. Any other sites are un-official built by travel agencies. Their charges may be very high. The e-visa letter will be ready for download in less than 1 week.

Visa on arrival

Advantages: reasonable price, short processing time, simple procedure, 24/7 support

Disadvantages: only good for entries by air

How to apply?

1. Fill out the secure online application form here 

2. Pay processing fee online (check visa fee structure)

3. Receive a visa approval letter via email within 2-3 working day(s)

4. Show the letter to get visa stamped at ANY Vietnam international airports. 

Embassy/Consulate.

Advantages: Good to use at airports, land borders, and seaports

Disadvantages: slow processing time, high visa cost

How to apply?

Submit a visa application form with your original passport and 01 passport-sized photo at the nearest office of the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate. Pay the fee by cash and wait for a few days for the visa result to be issued.
