Visa for Vietnam from Hongkong

At present, the citizens in Hongkong have to apply for a visa before boarding a plane to Vietnam. The procedure to get a visa for Vietnam from Hong Kong is very simple. You can choose to apply for a Vietnam visa in 2 ways as follows:

1. Apply at Consulate General of Vietnam 

Requirements for application include:

- A valid passport with blank page (valid at least 1 month from the expiry date of visa)

- A completed application form (download on website of the Consulate)

- One passport photo

- Invitation letter or sponsorship from a partner in Vietnam for reference (if any)

- Vietnam visa fee (in cash)

The foreigners holding ordinary passport granted by special countries will be requested to provide supporting documents such as booking air round ticket, booking hotel, contact persons and intended time to stay in Vietnam, Hongkong ID (if any).

2. Apply for Vietnam visa on arrival 

Vietnam visa on arrival is applicable for air entry only. This is the most convenient and fastest way to obtain a visa Vietnam for Hong Kong passport holders at present. The following are steps to get the visa at the airport on arrival:

- Click on “apply online” to fill in the application form

- Pay service fee to get visa approval letter

- Get visa approval letter in your email within 2 working days

- Get a visa stamp at arrival airport before picking up your visa

The Vietnam tourist visa has validity of 1 month and the Vietnam business visa has 3 month validity. Still, it is fine if the tourists would like to apply for a business visa to visit Vietnam longer and the businessmen are able to obtain tourist visa for short stay in Vietnam.

Note: Your passport must have at least 6 month validity from the date of entry to Vietnam
