Which urgent Vietnam visa option fits your situation?

Most urgent Vietnam visa cases fall into one of four situations, and each has a different fix. Pick yours before you choose a speed.

  • You have not applied anywhere yet. Order a new e-visa and choose an urgent speed. This covers air, land and sea arrivals at 83 border gates (17 airports, 27 land border gates and 39 seaports).
  • You already applied on evisa.gov.vn and it is still pending. You do not need to start again. We can speed up a pending e-visa with your registration code, using the form on this page.
  • You are flying in and prefer a visa on arrival. An urgent visa on arrival letter works at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh airports only, and you pay a stamping fee of $25 (single) or $50 (multiple) at the airport.
  • The airline has just refused to board you. Our guide to being denied boarding at check-in walks through what to do at the desk.

Rush Vietnam e-visa prices by speed

A rush Vietnam e-visa costs from $69 at 3 Working Days to $260 for Last-Minute Emergency, single entry. Every price includes the $25 or $50 government fee, and there is no card surcharge.

Two details are easy to miss. The Weekend & Public Holidays speed costs $250 for a single entry, slightly less than Last-Minute Emergency, and delivers in the evening rather than within hours. A 3-month e-visa costs a little more at most speeds. Our full e-visa price table lists every speed for 1-month and 3-month e-visas.

Emergency visa cut-off times in Vietnam (GMT+7)

For an emergency visa, Vietnam time decides the delivery, not the label. The latest order that still arrives the same working day is 17:30 (GMT+7) with Last-Minute Emergency.

Speed Order (GMT+7, working day) E-visa by
Last-Minute Emergency Before 8:00 9:30 the same day
Last-Minute Emergency 8:00 to 10:29, or 13:00 to 17:30 1.5 hours after ordering
Last-Minute Emergency 10:30 to 11:59 2.5 hours after ordering
Last-Minute Emergency 12:00 to 12:59 14:30 the same day
Last-Minute Emergency After 17:30 9:30 the next working day
Super Urgent Before 8:00 11:00 the same day
Super Urgent 8:00 to 9:30, or 13:00 to 15:30 2.5 hours after ordering
Super Urgent 9:31 to 11:59 3.5 hours after ordering
Super Urgent 12:00 to 12:59 15:30 the same day
Super Urgent After 15:30 11:00 the next working day
Same day Before 8:00 14:00 the same day
Same day 8:00 to 14:14 18:00 the same day
Same day From 14:15 14:00 the next working day
1 Working Day Before 18:00 18:30 the next working day
1 Working Day From 18:00 18:30 two working days later

Orders near midday take longer because they cross the lunch break. A Super Urgent order at 10:00, for example, arrives at 13:30.

Weekends and public holidays

On weekends and Vietnamese public holidays, only the Weekend & Public Holidays speed keeps working. It runs from Friday 18:00 to Sunday 16:00 (GMT+7) and on public holidays: order before 15:20 and the e-visa arrives by 18:30 the same day, or by 18:30 the next day if you order later.

One gap catches people out. An order on Friday between 17:31 and 17:59 has missed the Last-Minute Emergency cut-off, but the weekend window has not opened yet, so it moves to Monday. If you fly on Saturday or Sunday, wait until 18:00 on Friday and choose the weekend speed. Our weekend and holiday visa page covers the holiday calendar.

Choosing a speed by flight time

Pick the speed that delivers before check-in opens, which for an international flight is usually three hours before departure. Anything faster costs more without helping you.

If your flight is after 14:00 tomorrow (Vietnam time), Same day at $118 is enough when ordered before 14:15 today. If you fly tonight, you need Super Urgent or Last-Minute Emergency, ordered early enough for the e-visa to arrive before check-in. Trips a week or more away do not need an urgent speed at all; see our normal processing times.

Convert the cut-off to your own time zone first. This is 17:30 in Vietnam, the last Last-Minute Emergency order of a working day:

Your city Standard time Daylight saving time
London 10:30 11:30 (last Sunday of March to last Sunday of October)
New York 5:30 6:30 (second Sunday of March to first Sunday of November)
Sydney 20:30 21:30 (first Sunday of October to first Sunday of April)
Delhi 16:00 No daylight saving

Two worked examples:

  • Sydney, 10:00 on a weekday in mid-October is 6:00 in Vietnam, before every cut-off. Last-Minute Emergency arrives by 9:30, Super Urgent by 11:00 and Same day by 14:00 Vietnam time, which is 18:00 in Sydney.
  • New York, 9:00 on a weekday in mid-October is 20:00 in Vietnam, after every cut-off. From Monday to Thursday, Last-Minute Emergency arrives at 9:30 the next working day (22:30 the same evening in New York), Super Urgent at 11:00 and Same day at 14:00. On a Friday, 20:00 in Vietnam falls inside the weekend window, so the Weekend & Public Holidays speed delivers by 18:30 on Saturday, Vietnam time.

How to order an emergency Vietnam visa

A new e-visa takes three steps on our side and one on yours:

  1. Fill in the e-visa application form and choose your speed. One order covers up to 5 applicants.
  2. Pay by card.
  3. Upload each applicant's passport bio page and a 4x6 cm photo on a white background, any time after paying. Upload straight away so our staff can start on your file.
  4. Our staff check the file, submit it on evisa.gov.vn and email you the e-visa by the estimated delivery time shown at checkout, or we refund 100%.

If you already applied yourself and only need the decision sooner, use the form on this page instead: it asks for your registration code and email, and you pay only our service fee.

Refunds and what we cannot promise

Our delivery time is backed by a full refund: if your e-visa arrives after the estimated delivery time shown at checkout, we refund 100%. If the application is refused, we refund 100%, including the government fee, unless the information you gave was wrong or incomplete. Refunds go back to the card you paid with within 5-7 business days.

No speed guarantees approval. The decision belongs to the Vietnam Immigration Department; what we back is the delivery time. Once an application has been submitted, it cannot be cancelled. For a pending application you filed yourself, our service fee is not refunded unless we miss the delivery time shown at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

My flight is tomorrow and I have no visa. What should I do?

Order a new e-visa today. If your flight is after 14:00 tomorrow (Vietnam time), Same day ordered before 14:15 today is enough; for an earlier flight, choose Super Urgent or Last-Minute Emergency. On a weekend, choose Weekend & Public Holidays and order before 15:20.

What is the latest time I can order today?

On a working day, 17:30 (GMT+7) with Last-Minute Emergency. On weekends and public holidays, order before 15:20 (GMT+7) for an e-visa by 18:30 the same day.

I already applied on evisa.gov.vn. Can you make it faster?

Yes, if the application is still pending. Send your registration code and the email you used, and choose a speed. Our page on how to speed up a pending e-visa lists the service fees.

Can I get an urgent Vietnam e-visa for a land border or a cruise port?

Yes. An urgent Vietnam e-visa works at all 83 border gates: 17 airports, 27 land border gates and 39 seaports. Visa on arrival does not, because it is for airports only.

Do I need to print the e-visa?

Keep the PDF on your phone and carry a printed copy. Airlines check it at check-in, and a printout helps if your phone battery runs out.

Is VietnamVisa-Easy.com a government website?

No. We are a private visa service run by H2 Global Travel JSC since 2012. We submit e-visa applications on evisa.gov.vn for our customers; you can also apply there yourself for $25.
