Festival "HCM city-our home" is about to launch

Festival “Ho Chi Minh city- our home” runned by Ho Chi Minh city’s People’s Committee will take place from the 10th to the 12th of september at Van Thanh tourist area, Binh Thanh district. The festival is for foreign communities, diplomatic corps, and expatriate students in Ho Chi Minh’s city.

Accordingly, varied activities will be held during the festival, of which the most prominent is exhibition “Ho Chi Minh City’s Activities in International Relations – Integration and Development”. The photos’ content is about foreign activities of Ho Chi Minh in periods, especially renovation period and about people of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh city in particular. The photos emphasize historic events, joint venture activities and cooperation in cultural, economic, social fields of expatriate foreign communities in the city. Traditional costume of Vietnamese ethnic groups are also shown at the exhibition.

An open-air stage will be set up for charity activities, exchange program, culture and traditional costume performances of the countries with “My Favourite Costumes”, “My Favourite Songs” Exchange and Competition.

Program of the festival also consists of culture booths, culinary space presenting cuisine culture of the countries and “Vietnamese delicacies” competition for foreign families working and living in Ho Chi Minh city. The participants will have to prepare on-site Vietnamese delicacies representing different regions.
In addition, the city implements the decoration of Nothern distintive boats to hold “don ca tai tu” shows in the river.

On this occasion, the city issues 1.000 books entitled “ Ho Chi Minh’s Foreign Affairs 2013” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and 25 countries in the world.
