Process of Vietnam visa for Indians

Traditionally, Vietnam visa for Indians should be well obtained before you set foot in Vietnam. In other words, you have to complete visa process at embassy/consulate from India. However, you can experience a simpler process when availing Visa On Arrival facility. Read on to have sufficient understanding on this.

Vietnam Visa On Arrival is valid for 90 days with both single and multiple entries. The validity begins from expected travel date you submit in the application until it expires, not from the actual date you enter Vietnam.

Eligibility

The Visa On Arrival facility is particularly designed for visitors traveling by air. To be able to eligible for it, you have to fly to Vietnam, not use buses or ships.

How it works for Indian citizens?

The process of visa upon arrival includes 2 periods from the beginning to the end:

1.  Prior online visa application

2.  In-person stamping process on arrival

Apply online

Before take a flight to Vietnam and collect your visa there, you are asked to apply for the visa approval online. This can be done through trusted travel sites such as vietnamvisa-easy.com. You can also use search engine to find other sites.

Always, you will start the application with an online visa form. The form is available here and you can fill it out whenever you are ready. Before you do it, please do note that:

•  There’s no need to provide the exact travel date. However, the best-estimated date is advisable.
•  Visa on arrival can be issued at every Vietnam’s international airport. “Port of entry” is only optional information. You can change arrival airport at last minute without any problems.
•  Select urgent processing if you are traveling within 48 hours to save yourself from uncomfortable last-minute surprise.

After submitting the application successfully, you just have to pay the processing fee online and then let us take care of the rest. There are currently 3 payment options:

•  Credit/debit card payment via Onepay or Paypal. The accepted credit/debit cards include  Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB andDiners Club
•  Money transfer
•  Cash: if you have friends in Vietnam willing to make payment for you at our office.

The visa approval is usually provided via email around 6:00 pm of Vietnam time on the date of delivery.

Stamping process on arrival

Please make the following documents available to submit at Landing Visa Counter at your arrival airport:

•  Original passport: should be valid for at least 6 months ahead according to requirements of the airlines
•  Visa approval letter
•  Completed entry-exit form (download it here) attached with 01 recent passport-sized photo
•  Visa stamping fee: $45 for single entry visas, $65 for 1 month multiple visa, $95 for 3 months multiple visas. Prepare the fee in USD or VND and in cash as only cash payment is accepted.

The stamping process takes around 15 minutes. Sometimes you have to wait longer when there is a long queue of travelers waiting for their visa stamp like you. If you don’t want to line up as other people to get the visa, we would like to suggest stamping assistance service.
