Visa for Vietnam from Australia

Similar to US citizens, the Australian passport holders are also given 2 easy options to get a Vietnam visa for Australians. For those who travel to Vietnam by land and by sea, the only way for you is applying through Vietnam Embassy and for those who enter Vietnam by air, we advise you to apply for visa on arrival for yourconvenience. The following are instructions on how to get a Vietnam visa for Australians in two different ways for two different modes of transport to Vietnam:

The Australian citizens are allowed to apply by post or in person from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM from Monday to Thursday, 9.00 to 4.30 PM on Friday, except Australian public holidays. The obligatory documents for application include:

- An application form (download from the website of embassy)

- A passport that has at leastone-month validityafter the expiry of the visa and one blank page.

- 2 passport photos

- Vietnam visa fee (in cash, money order or bank cheque)

- Prepaid returned envelop if you want your passport to receive your passport back by post

Processing time: 3 working days to receive your passport with a visa on it

2. Vietnam visa on arrival

Vietnam visa on arrival is a kind of visa for Vietnam that is applied on website of competent travel companies and picked up at the airport. It is suggested for air entry, NOT land or sea entry. To get the visa at at airport of arrival, the Australians need to follow 4 steps:

- Fill out the secure online visa application form 

- Pay visa service fee through online payment gateway

- Receive visa approval letter via email after 2 working days

- Get a visa stamp at arrival airport
