Visa for Vietnam from US

Getting a visa for Vietnam from United States is a simple task that is easily accomplished with just a few clicks. The best time to start application is 1 month prior to the trip. The validity of visa is 1 year starting from best-estimated date of entry you put in application form.

Please notice that regardless of short stay or long stay, the U.S citizens will always be granted 1 year multiple tourist visa. The Vietnam immigration department stopped issuing short visas for the U.S citizens from 30^th August, 2016. In spite of being categorized as DL visa (tourist visa), the tourist can be used for business purposes. However, the visa holders are allowed to stay in Vietnam for maximum 90 days for each entry. Those applying for 1 year multiple business visa are authorized to remain in the country for 12 months of visa validity.

Vietnam visa online process for U.S citizens

Step 1: Fill out application form online as correctly as possible. Watch our instructions video if you have no idea how to complete the form.

Step 2: Use credit/debit card to pay $30 processing fee.

Step 3: Receive the visa approval within 2 business days via email. The approval will be sent on the same day for express service (additional fee required). Read Urgent Vietnam visa for details about expedited processing. Please check spam folder in case you do not see the approval in the inbox.

Step 4: Make a colored print copy of approval and complete entry-exit form (the form is delivered at the same time with approval), prepare 01 passport-sized photo and $135 cash.

Step 5: Fly to Vietnam. At “Landing Visa” counter, you are requested to submit an original passport with approval, entry-exit form, and photo. Depending on length of queue, it takes 15-20 minutes for the visa to be granted. Once the visa is ready, the officer will call your name and ask you to pay $135 stamping fee before returning the passport.

Tip:  In case you wish to pick up the visa quickly and avoid the queue, stamping assistance service is very helpful for $22 service fee.
