Vietnam visa requirements for cruise passengers
Except for citizens from 16 exempt-countries, all foreign visitors must obtain an entry visa to Vietnam prior to boarding by submitting Vietnam visa application at Vietnam Embassy. The commonly requested documents for a travel visa include:
- Original passport valid at least 6 months prior to date of travel of 1 month beyond your trip
- Visa application form (available at the embassy)
- 01 passport photo taken within the last 6 months
- Vietnam visa fee
Processing time may vary from embassy to embassy but it normally requires about 3 business days to complete. After collecting the visa, you should not forget to check its accuracy to report the embassy in time for remedy before boarding. Otherwise, the embassy will not bear any responsibility.

Note:
You are advised to ask the tour management of your ship about whether they can handle the visa for you because most of cruise companies will provide visa for Vietnam on board. If the answer is No, you should obtain the visa by yourself as per instruction above.
