Best luxury resorts in Vietnam's central coast
The central coast has the largest group of beach resorts in Vietnam, all within an hour of Da Nang airport. Four Seasons The Nam Hai sits on a long beach between Da Nang and Hoi An, with villas facing the sea.
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula is built into the forested hillside of the Son Tra Peninsula, with its own bay. Both make easy bases for day trips; our Hoi An guide covers the old town nearby.
Nha Trang and Ninh Thuan
South of Nha Trang, two secluded resorts are known for their settings. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is reached only by boat, with villas among the rocks of a quiet bay.
Amanoi, further south in Nui Chua National Park, overlooks Vinh Hy bay in the dry, dramatic landscapes of Ninh Thuan; our Ninh Thuan guide explains the area. Cam Ranh airport serves both.
Islands: Phu Quoc and Con Dao
Phu Quoc resorts line both coasts of the island, and many international brands are here. JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, designed by Bill Bensley around a fictional university, sits on Khem beach in the south; Regent Phu Quoc is on the west coast. Our Phu Quoc guide covers the island and its visa exemption.
Six Senses Con Dao, on the quiet Con Dao archipelago, is a low-key resort beside a marine national park. Getting there takes a domestic flight; our Con Dao guide explains the route.
Heritage and mountains
Away from the beach, a few properties stand out for history or scenery. Azerai La Residence in Hue is a restored colonial-era building on the Perfume River, close to the Imperial City.
In the north, Topas Ecolodge sits on a hilltop near Sapa with views over rice terraces and villages. Two practical points complete a resort trip: arriving smoothly, and the visa.
Arriving in style
A smooth arrival matters as much as the resort itself. These two services and one document help.
Fast track and transfers
Airport fast track takes you through immigration with an escort at Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc. Many resorts arrange their own cars; if not, a pre-booked airport transfer waits at arrivals in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
Visa for a resort trip
Most visitors need a Vietnam visa or exemption. Phu Quoc has its own 30-day visa exemption for arrivals from abroad who stay on the island. For mainland resorts, an e-visa covers stays of up to 90 days.
VietnamVisa-Easy.com is a private visa service operated by H2 Global Travel JSC since 2012, not a government website, and you can apply directly at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you would like your visa, fast track and transfer arranged together, start your application with us.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most luxurious resort in Vietnam?
There is no single answer: Amanoi, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and Four Seasons The Nam Hai are often named among the most luxurious, each with a very different setting. Choose by region and season rather than rankings, and check recent guest reviews before booking.
When is the best time for a beach resort in Vietnam?
It depends on the coast. Phu Quoc and the south are best from November to April, the central coast from about March to August, and Nha Trang and Ninh Thuan from February to August. Avoid the central coast from October to December, when storms are common.
Are luxury resorts in Vietnam good for families?
Many are. Large beach resorts in Da Nang, Hoi An and Phu Quoc offer family villas, kids' clubs and pools, while some secluded resorts focus on couples. Check minimum ages, villa layouts and transfer times before booking with children.
Do I need a visa for a resort stay in Vietnam?
Most visitors need a Vietnam visa or a visa exemption, even for a resort-only trip. Phu Quoc allows 30 days visa-free on the island for international arrivals. Read Do I need a visa for Vietnam? for your passport.
